Azalea Care

Azaleas are really not fussy plants but do require well drained acidic soil to grow and prosper. Therefore it is a good idea to have your soil tested to find out the ph. You can acquire a soil testing kit from your local county agent's office.

Robert E. "Buddy" Lee, creator of Encore Azaleas, suggests that if your soil ph is not acidic and or does not drain well you can incorporate acidic organic material such as pine bark or an azalea soil mixture with your natural soil to improve your soil drainage and make your soil more adaptable to acidic soil loving plants.
